MAITS is an international disability charity set up by Rangoonwala Foundation in 2019. It works with local professionals, community workers and caregivers in low-resource settings to improve the health, development and wellbeing of children with special needs and disabilities and the quality of life of their caregivers. Their unique approach transforms lives through building local capacity and empowering local communities who are placed in the driving seat. It also ensures that costs are kept to a minimum without compromising quality of delivery. Rangoonwala Foundation continues to be involved in the running of the charity as well as their main funder. To date (December 2023), over 7000 individuals have received training through MAITS in 23 countries around the world reaching almost 1.5 million families with a child with a disability.
